Koorlong
Koorlong is a small rural village in north-west Victoria, 12 km south-west of Mildura. It is thought that the name was derived from an Aboriginal word describing the lightwood tree.
Koorlong is at the western flank of the Mildura irrigation district and has numerous citrus orchards and holdings for dried and table grapes. Settlement came considerably later than at Mildura (1887). A school was opened in a public hall in 1904, the year after the railway line to Mildura was opened.
