Mailors Flat

Mailors Flat is a rural/residential locality in western Victoria, 8 km north of Warrnambool. It was named after Robert Mailor who took up a pastoral run extending westwards to Koroit in 1842.

The area underwent settlement as small farms during the early 1870s, and a school was opened in 1873. It developed as a dairying and agricultural district and was described in 1903 in the Australian handbook:
