Brookfield
Brookfield is a residential suburb immediately west of Melton South, 36 km north-west of central Melbourne. Its western boundary is Djerriwarrh Creek, which is also Melton shire’s western boundary. From north to south it extends from the Western Freeway to the railway line to Ballarat.
Brookfield’s earliest housing area was adjacent to Melton South in the early 1980s. The name was that of the first real estate area, possibly inspired by Arnold Creek and two other streams that run south of the Werribee River. All have actual or proposed linear parks.
