Nungurner
Nungurner is a rural locality in east Gippsland, 10 km west of Lakes Entrance. It is thought that the name derived from an Aboriginal word describing the landscape.
Nungurner adjoins Kalimna West and in the 2006 and 2011 census both areas were counted as one. Kalimna West is the older area, having had a school in 1900. At that time much of Nungurner was uncleared bushland, and not until the 1920s did farming start and an access road built. A primary school opened in 1924.
