West Bendigo
West Bendigo is a sparsely settled suburb on the Calder Highway, immediately west of Long Gully and Ironbark. It is 3 km from the city centre.
West Bendigo's eastern part includes some of the Victoria Hill Diggings heritage area, one of Bendigo's more profitable and longer lived mining areas. It also includes all of the Royal George heritage area, one of the less profitable mining sites. Both, however, were reworked in the 1930s. North of the Royal George site there is a section of the Bendigo regional park, a box ironbark bushland which is also well populated by wattle species and bush birds.
On the Calder Highway there is the Bendigo Stadium, an undercover venue with seven courts for netball and basketball.
West Bendigo's census populations have been:
census date | population |

2001 | 362 |
2006 | 384 |
